We kindly request that you book flights arriving as close to 12:00 PM as possible on September 15 and departing as close to 1:00 PM as possible on September 18. We will not be able to accommodate early morning or late-night departures.

Airport Transfers

Airport transfers will only be provided on the program dates, September 15 and September 18 (and those approved for September 14 based on flight times). If you plan to extend your stay, you will need to arrange and pay for your own transportation. Please note that the transfer time from San Jose Airport (SJO) to Los Suenos Marriott Ocean & Golf Resort is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes - 2 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. Please keep in mind that September 15 is Costa Rica's Independence Day. So, there could be more traffic than usual due to parade routes.

If you are arriving or departing outside of program parameters / date, here are two options for you to book transfers on your own:

  • Private transportation with CTT: approximate fee is $170.00 USD (one way)
  • Contact Eugenia Solano with TAM (our transportation sponsor): cost for 1-4 passengers (one way) = $350 USD, plus VAT
  • Taxis are also available from SJO.

After disembarking from the plane, follow the sequence of hallways leading to Immigration. Depending on your arrival gate, you may need to go downstairs using stairs, an escalator, or an elevator to reach the lower level of the airport.

At Immigration, officials will ask for your passport, accommodation details, and return flight information. Once your passport is stamped, head to the Baggage Claim area to collect your luggage. The final step is the Customs Checkpoint, where both your luggage and carry-on items will be screened. Transportation staff for those with provided arrival transfers will meet you at the arrivals gate.

If your transfer is included and you have trouble locating it at the airport, please reach out to Laura Colindres at +506-8506-7221 for assistance.
